Fort Hays State University's Crops Judging Team has been taking part in American Society of Agronomy contests recently.

On Oct. 26 the team -- coached by Dr. Bob Stephenson, associate professor of agriculture -- traveled to the regional contest in Manhattan. The contest consisted of identifying of 200 plant and seed samples, grain grading and seed analysis -- identifying and classifying other seeds in a base sample of seed.

The team will then travel to Kansas City to the Kansas City Board of Trade for the National ASA Contest on Nov. 19.
