Fort Hays State University's Small Business Development Center is offering a tax seminar for small business contractors from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, at the Sternberg Museum of Natural History in Hays.

Due to the growing need for more specialized information on tax requirements for contractors, the SBDC and the Kansas Department of Revenue will provide information on the basics of Kansas taxes and how they affect the contractor.

Topics to be discussed include taxation of materials and labor, commercial and remodeling projects and exemption certificates.

Registration fees for the seminar are $35 and the deadline is Tuesday, Oct. 22. After the deadline, registration will be $45.

To register or for more information, contact the FHSU Small Business Development Center by phone at (785) 628-6786 or by e-mail at sbdc@fhsu.edu.
