KFHS-TV takes to the airwaves and net

KFHS-TV, Fort Hays State University's student run television station, aired its first show for the fall semester last night, Sept. 26.

Each show is completely student-produced, from the anchors to the technical crew. The newscast covers campus-wide and local news, sports and weather live on-air.

The 20 minute news program is broadcast live Thursday nights at 5 p.m. on Hays Cable, Channel 58, and is also streamed via the Internet. Each news show is followed by a 10-minute student segment that deals with campus sports, national entertainment or a student or faculty discussion.

Jenna Stout, Plainville senior and former anchor, said the first show went smoothly and was the best first episode she had seen despite the Internet stream not working.

KFHS-TV will air and stream a new show each Thursday at 5 p.m.
