FHSU featured in technology magazine
09/13/2002

Fort Hays State University was featured in the third quarter 2002 issue of Packet magazine.

Cisco Systems, Inc. -- the worldwide leader in networking for the Internet -- publishes Packet quarterly.

FHSU was one of the universities highlighted in the article "The 21st Century Classroom" because of its extensive use of Cisco systems. The university has implemented the use of Cisco technology for the Virtual College as well as Blackboard.

"Cisco CDN technology is a reliable, cost-effective way for us to deliver content to our on-campus students and offer Virtual College courses," said Dennis King, director of the Center for Teaching Excellence and Learning Technology. "And unlike early distance-learning experiences, students now have the sense that there really is an instructor on the other side of the computer."
