After several months of negotiating with the Fort Hays State University Chapter of the American Association of University Professors, the administration team has decided to petition the Kansas Public Employee Relations Board to declare impasse.

The administration team, which represents the university, the Kansas Board of Regents and the Kansas Department of Administration, is hopeful that bringing in a federal mediator will facilitate a successful completion of the meet and confer process for the 2003 memorandum of agreement.
