08/20/2002

Mark Bannister, chair of the Department of Information Networking and Telecommunications at Fort Hays State University, announced that Fluke Networks recently donated several equipment gifts to the department.

The equipment includes a LAN Cable Meter, port and cable testing equipment and a multimeter.

"This gift recognizes the national stature of the Fort Hays State University INT program and the respect that industry has for FHSU faculty," said Bannister.

The equipment will be used to instruct students who are learning to design, build and troubleshoot Internet protocol based networks and will also help FHSU faculty members in conducting applied research.

"Companies are most willing to make gifts where they see high quality," said FHSU President Edward H. Hammond.

"This gift reflects the fact that Fluke Networks is impressed with FHSU generally and the Department of Information Networking and Telecommunications specifically. Gifts like this allow the university to do more for our students and to enable our faculty."
