FHSU Music Department presents Symphonic Winds and Wind Ensemble concert

On Thursday, May 9, Fort Hays State University's Department of Music will present a concert by the Symphonic Winds and Wind Ensemble.

Symphonic Winds, under the direction of Dr. Robert Conger, assistant professor of music, will perform music by Holst, Massenet, Kabalevsky and Nestico and a student composition by Clay Vernon, Wichita senior.

Under the direction of Dr. Michael Robinson, assistant professor of music, the Wind Ensemble will perform the music of George Gershwin. Selections will include An American in Paris, Second Prelude, and Rhapsody in Blue, featuring a piano solo by Dr. Jungwha (ZHUNG-wah) Lee, assistant professor of music.

The concert will be at 8 p.m. in the Beach/Schmidt Performing Arts Center on the FHSU campus. Tickets are $6 for adults, $4 for seniors and children over 12, and free to FHSU students with a student I.D.
