FHSU's Huntington takes honors in Kansas Press Women's competition

Linn Ann Huntington, director of journalism at Fort Hays State University, won four awards -- including three first-place honors -- in the annual Kansas Press Women's Communications Contest. The awards were announced May 3 during the organization's spring conference in Topeka.

Huntington took first place in the achievement/research competition for her work as faculty adviser of The University Leader, FHSU's student newspaper. Her short story, "The Fourth Wise Man," won the books/fiction/verse competition, and in the World Wide Web category (news or feature articles written specifically for the Web), she took top honors for her article, "A Change in Perspectives."

Huntington also received third place in the daily newspaper editorial competition for "The Day the Class Bully Cried."
