Fort Hays State University's faculty and administrators will gather for the annual Spring Faculty Meeting on Friday, May 10, to review the 2001-2002 academic year.
The meeting begins at 3 p.m. in the Fort Hays Ballroom of the Memorial Union.
The highlight will be a State of the University address by Dr. Edward H. Hammond, FHSU president. The past year has brought several successes and national recognition of student achievements, including a national champion debate team and a repeat national championship for the financial planning team.
Also included in the meeting will be:
* The annual report from the president of the Faculty Senate, Dr. Paul Adams.
* The annual meeting of the University Association and a report from its president,
Dr. Greg Force.
* The annual meeting of the graduate faculty and a report from the dean of graduate studies, Dr. Tom Jackson.
Commerce Bank of Hays, which provides financial and other support for several important FHSU programs, will sponsor a reception for faculty, staff and invited guests at the bank following the Spring Faculty Meeting.
Note to Editors/News Directors: Although the Spring Faculty Meeting is focused on the university community rather than the community at large, we welcome reporters and photographers if you wish to cover it as a news event. |
