Jeffrey Michael Fouquet, Fort Hays State University senior from Hays, won the 2002 Sigma Tau Delta International English Honor Society High Plains Regional Award. This honor was announced at the international convention held March 14-17 in Boise, ID.

Fouquet was one of 70 students from the high plains area who competed at the international convention. Fouquet won $200 for the paper he had written for the conference. "His was judged to be the best piece of writing overall, within our region," said Dr. John Kerrigan, assistant professor of English.
