Two Hays students and three faculty members in Fort Hays State University's College of Health and Life Sciences have been announced by the college's dean, Dr. Tony Fernandez, as winners of outstanding faculty and student awards for the 2001-2002 academic year.
Curtis Wolf, Hays senior in the Department of Biological Sciences, and Sandra Billinger, a Hays senior in the Department of Health and Human Performance, were honored as the outstanding students for 2001-2002.
Both students were recognized for their excellent academic records and significant research and service contributions.
Faculty honored for outstanding scholarship were Dr. Nancy Blume, associate professor of nursing, and Dr. Jeff Briggs, chair of the Department of Health and Human Performance.
Dr. Jean Gleichsner, associate professor of agriculture, was recognized for service contributions to her discipline, the university, and the community.
