Second phase of repairs to Park Street will restrict access to FHSU campus
05/18/2006

Construction will begin next Monday, May 22, to remove and replace concrete paving on Park Street between Sixth and Seventh Streets, including both intersections. The project will not impact any adjacent sidewalks.

Dana Cunningham, director of facilities planning, said construction was scheduled to be completed by Aug. 11 but might be finished well in advance of that date. APAC of Hays is the contractor for the project.

During construction, parking along Park Street will be eliminated in the work zone. Cunningham said that while two-way traffic might be allowed along the west half of Park Street on some days during the project, drivers would be wise to avoid the work area entirely during construction.

The first phase of the project, replacement of Park Street from old U.S. 40 south to Seventh Street, was completed last summer.
