Jacobs presents at international conference

Dr. Sue Jacobs, assistant professor of teacher education at Fort Hays State University, recently traveled to Chicago, IL, to attended the 51st International Reading Association Annual Convention, "Great Teachers Inspire the World." She presented her research "Artistic Response of Incarcerated Male Youth to Young Adult Literature," which focuses on males in a secure setting and their responses to young adult fiction stories read aloud to them.

Jacobs also had the opportunity to engage in professional development and learn about the latest research in the field while networking with reading professionals from around the world.

Founded in 1956, the IRA is a professional organization dedicated to promoting good reading habits, improving the quality of reading instruction and sharing research and information.
