FHSU and Ellis County to offer training to Law Enforcement

The Ellis County High Technology Crime Unit will offer area law enforcement officers a chance to learn how to effectively operate the FBI computer program Image Scan on Thursday, May 25.

The ECHTCU is made up of members from the Fort Hays State University Police, the Ellis County Sheriff's Department, the Hays Police Department and the Ellis County Attorney's Office.

The Image Scan System was created as a resource to allow investigators a way to safely preview the content of a subject's computer during consent searches.

The course is limited to 30 people and open to law enforcement only. The course will take place from 9 to 4:30 p.m. in room 114, McCartney Hall, on the FHSU campus.

For more information or to enroll in the course contact FHSU Director of Police and Security, Ed Howell at (785) 628-5304 or by email at ehowell@fhsu.edu.
