Fort Hays State University recently promoted and gave tenure to various faculty members, who will be honored at a reception on Thursday, May 4, at 3:30 p.m. in the Stouffer Lounge of the Memorial Union.
The tenures and promotions begin with the 2007 fiscal year.
Nine faculty members were granted tenure and promoted:
Dr. Kayvan Aflatooni, Department of Physics, was promoted from assistant professor to associate professor.
Dr. Brian Kinnaird, Department of Political Science and Justice Studies, was promoted from instructor to assistant professor.
Dr. Richard Lisichenko, Department of Geosciences, was promoted from assistant professor to associate professor.
Dr. Mary Martin, Department of Management and Marketing, was promoted from assistant professor to associate professor.
Dr. Kristin Pisano, Department of Music, was promoted from instructor to assistant professor.
Dr. Tom Schaffer, Department of Geosciences, was promoted from assistant professor to associate professor.
Stephen Schleicher, Department of Information Networking and Telecommunications, was promoted from assistant professor to associate professor.
Dr. Kenneth Trantham, Department of Physics, was promoted from assistant professor to associate professor.
Dr. Brett Weaver, Department of English, was promoted from assistant professor to associate professor.
Two professors were granted a promotion.
Dr. Charles Gnizak, Department of Accounting and Informational Systems, was promoted from assistant professor to associate professor.
Dr. Stephen Kitzis, Department of Psychology, was promoted from associate professor to professor.
Three faculty members were tenured.
