Traveling artists from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, will give outdoor glass blowing demonstrations from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, April 28, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 29, north of Rarick Hall on the FHSU campus.
On Friday, the artists will provide special demonstrations for area schools such as Hays High, Thomas More Prep-Marian High School, Kennedy Middle School and Washington and Wilson Elementary schools.
The event is part of an annual Visiting Artist Program sponsored by Creative Arts Society, a student art organization. The program is presented by the Kansas Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts. Additional funding and services were provided by FHSU's Student Government Association, the Art Department, Schreiner Fuels and fundraising efforts from Creative Arts Society members.
