Math, Computer Science faculty take part in conferences

Faculty from the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Fort Hays State University participated in various professional conferences during March.

Dr. Hongbiao Zeng, assistant professor, and Dr. Julian Wang, assistant professor, were invited to attend a JavaServerFaces/MyFaces class from March 14 to 17. The JavaServer Faces workshop was hosted by Virtuas Open Source Solutions in Denver, CO. Zeng also made a presentation on three small discoveries during teaching or studying math titled "Some Classroom Observations" at the Kansas section of Mathematical Association of America conference at Cowley County Community College in Winfield.

Dr. Ron Sandstrom, professor in and chair of the department, Keith Dreiling, instructor, and Dr. Mohammad Riazi-Kermani, professor, also attended the CCCC conference. Sandstrom also served as team chair for a Higher Learning Commission North Central Association comprehensive visit at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

Bill Weber, instructor, attended the International T3 conference in Denver, CO.
