Four faculty members from Fort Hays State University attended a Quality Matter Peer Course Review Training Inter-Institutional seminar in March.
The seminar, in Baltimore, MD, provided a review of quality assurance in online learning.
It was attended by Dr. Hong Wang, assistant director of FHSU's Virtual College and coordinator for the Center for Teaching Excellence and Learning Technology; Dr. Beth Walizer, assistant professor of teacher education; Justin Greenleaf, e-Leadership.net coordinator for the College of Business and Leadership; and Dr. Sue Jacobs, assistant professor of teacher education.
This training was intended to provide an understanding of the Quality Matters Project and peer review course process, how to use the peer course review rubric and how to be better prepared to assess online courses. This process is used to create and implement a process to certify the quality of online courses and online components.
