Local ceramics students take part in a variety of projects

Local ceramics students at Fort Hays State University have taken part in a variety of projects this semester.

Jessica Conner, Hays graduate student, and Faith Hewitt, Meade senior, were recently accepted into the 5-State Photography Show, where Conner won honorable mention.

With the help of Conner and Jennifer Mettlen Nolan, Hays graduate student, Linda Ganstrom, professor of art, recently presented a workshop on "Making Bodycast Molds as a Tool in Creating Ceramic Sculpture" at Dodge City Community College. They also delivered works to DCCC, which will be on display from April 1 to April 28 in the DCCC library.

Works by Kate Barnaby, Valley Center senior, Jeanette Zamrzla, Hays special student, Marla Bohnert, Jewell senior, and Andrew Nolan, Hays graduate student, were accepted into the 40th Anniversary Exhibition of the Kansas Artist Craftsman Association, which will be held at the Wichita Center for the Arts in Wichita. The exhibit will be open from March 10 to April 16.
