Led by conductor Timothy Hankewich, the Kansas City Symphony Orchestra will return to the Encore Series at 8 p.m. on Friday, March 3 in the Beach/Schmidt Performing Arts Center on the campus of Fort Hays State University.
The symphony will perform Ludwig van Beethoven's Symphony No. 2 and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Symphony No. 40.
In addition to the performance, conductor Timothy Hankewich will host a pre-concert discussion about the evening's repertoire. Concert comments will begin at 7 p.m. and last for 20 to 25 minutes.
This presentation is supported by the Mid-America Arts Alliance with generous underwriting by the National Endowment for the Arts, the Kansas Arts Commission, and foundations, corporations and individuals throughout Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Texas.
Fort Hays State University's Special Events committee was among a select group of Midwest presenters chosen to receive a Mid-America Arts Alliance grant.
Tickets are available at the Student Service Center in the Memorial Union and may be charged by phone at (785) 628-5306. Reserved ticket prices are $22 for the public, $20 for senior citizens and children under 18, and $18 for FHSU students. Unreserved seats are $18, $16 and $14.
