Six high school choirs, Fort Hays State University's concert choir and the Fort Hays singers are coming together for the FHSU Music Department's inaugural Tiger Choral Festival from 1 to 6 p.m. on Monday, March 27, on the FHSU campus.
Each high school choir will have the opportunity to practice its songs from 1 to 3:30 p.m. in Felten-Start Theatre, which is where they will sing for their large group contest on April 13.
At 4 p.m., the festivities will move to the Beach/Schmidt Performing Arts Center in Sheridan Hall, where each choir will have a chance to sing for the other choirs and to hear performances by singers from FHSU's Music Department.
"We're including our concert choir and the Fort Hays Singers in the performance so the high school kids can hear what's in store for them when they decide to attend FHSU," said Terry Crull, director of choral activities.
