Fort Hays State University's Dr. Charles Gnizak and Joan Rumpel, assistant professors of accounting and information systems, recently attended the Kansas Society of Certified Public Accountants Leadership Cabinet and the 55th Kansas Tax Conference in Wichita.

Rumpel was elected to serve a three-year term as a member of the Board of Directors of the KSCPA.

Gnizak published an article titled "Circular 230: A Guide for Opinion Writers and Tax Professionals" in the Fall 2005 issue of "TAXPRO Quarterly Journal," a publication of the National Association of Tax Professionals.
