Fort Hays State University's annual Tiger Call phone-a-thon raised $426,892 for university scholarships this fall.

"Donors and pledges are up 2 percent this year," said Cathy Van Doren, FHSU Endowment Association's director of annual giving. "We are fortunate to have the support of generous and loyal alumni."

Brenda Hoopingarner, chair of the Department of Allied Health, and Dr. Mark Bannister, chair of the Department of Information Networking and Telecommunications, co-chaired Tiger Call and led the charge in recruiting volunteers. Their leadership resulted in 617 students, faculty and staff members calling alumni to raise money for scholarships.
