FHSU professor, students among artists exhibiting work at Hays Arts Council

HAYS, KS -- A watercolor monotype exhibition from a summer workshop instructed by Gordon K. Sherman, associate professor of art at Fort Hays State University, will be among the exhibits opening Friday, June 17, at the Hays Arts Council gallery at 112 E. 11th.

A reception for the artists, open to the public, is scheduled from 7 to 9 p.m.

The exhibition of watercolor monotype prints was developed by Sherman and several students: Georgia Abbott, WaKeeney special student; Cindy Balthazor, Palco special graduate student; Kate Barnaby, Valley Center senior; Kellie Banash, Filley, NE, senior; Crystal Hammerschmidt, Smolan senior; Beth Hansen, Hays junior; Bill Inman, Hays graduate student; and Andrea Lucas, Sublette senior.

Other works to be on exhibit include paintings by Judy Love, Manhattan, ceramics by Brian McCallum, Garden City, and a master of fine arts exhibition by Jonathon Russell, Hays graduate student.
