FHSU's Sherman exhibits work in two competitive shows

HAYS, KS -- Gordon K. Sherman, assistant professor of art at Fort Hays State University, recently had work accepted into two juried exhibitions.

"Venus Icon V," a colored pencil on slate with gold leaf, was accepted into the Aesthetics 2002 national exhibition at the Birger Sandzen Memorial Gallery in Lindsborg. The exhibition's juror was Santa Fe, NM, artist Fran Larsen. Sherman's work will be on display from May 7 through June 30.

His watercolor monotype "Transcendental Blurb VI-50" will be part of the Plains Arts VI International Exhibit at the Pittsburg State University Gallery, which opens April 17 and runs through May 8. Sandra Blain, professor of ceramics at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, judged the exhibition.
