Four FHSU professors present papers at interdisciplinary conference

HAYS, KS -- Four members of the Fort Hays State University faculty presented papers at the 2002 Conference of the Society for the Interdisciplinary Study of Social Imagery in Colorado Springs, CO. The theme of the conference was "The Image of the Outsider."

Dr. Bradley Will, assistant professor of English, presented a paper titled "The Truth Shall Set You Adrift: The Perils of Investigation in the World of H.P. Lovecraft."

Dr. Daniel Kulmala, assistant professor of English, spoke on " 'You're the Misfit': Epiphanies and the Recognition of the Outsider."

Dr. Robert Luehrs, professor of history, and Christiane Luehrs, instructor of English, collaborated on a paper titled "Barbara Hambly's Benjamin January Mysteries: Know Thyself."

These three papers constituted a session which focused on the "outsider" in detective/mystery/crime popular fiction; the session was moderated by Dr. Steven Trout, associate professor of English.
