HAYS, KS -- Faculty in FHSU's Department of Health and Human Performance presented sessions at the Central District American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance annual convention held Feb. 7-9 in Rapid City, SD.
The conference was attended by approximately 600 professionals representing nine states: Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming.
Associate professors Dr. Jeff Briggs and Dr. Greg Kandt and assistant professor Dr. Jeff Burnett presented "Wellness in the Campus Community: Programming for Success."
Briggs, Kandt and instructor Lynn Maska presented "Internship Choices: Making the Difference in Your Future."
Associate professor Dr. Steve Sedbrook presented "How to Develop and Implement a Quality Health and Fitness Fair" with Roy Wohl, assistant professor of health, physical education and exercise science at Washburn University in Topeka.
Dr. John Zody, professor of health and human performance, and Sedbrook presented a session titled "Cheap Tricks."
In addition to making presentations, two faculty members were elected to administrative roles in the CDAAHPERD. Sedbrook was elected to the position of vice president-elect for the health division, and Briggs was chosen as chair-elect for the community health section
