HAYS, KS -- According to the Yahoo Hot 200 survey of the most wired campuses, Fort Hays State University has taken the right steps in advancing technology on campus.
FHSU was rated 137 on the list, above such schools as the University of Nebraska-Kearney and Oklahoma State University.
The survey measures resources and services available to students, specifically in computing, networking and telecommunications.
Yahoo and Peterson Publishing rated the colleges on six varying services: infrastructure, student resources, Web portal, e-learning, technical support and wireless services.
FHSU rated a 77.53 out of 100 possible points. Technology resources at FHSU that were ranked high were free dial-up access for full-time students, a centralized help desk, 51 mediated classrooms, a large number of PC labs, Internet-based student e-mail, ethernet availability in the dormitories, courses on Blackboard, voice mail accounts for students, and fast Internet access.
