HAYS, KS -- Verlin and Elaine Pfannenstiel recently made a contribution to the FHSU scholarship in their name. An endowed scholarship established through the FHSU Endowment Association, the fund provides scholarship money for the Tiger basketball program.
Tom Spicer, director of athletics, praised the Pfannenstiels as assets to the community.
"Verlin and Elaine are exceptional friends not just to FHSU athletics, but to the university at large and to the city of Hays," Spicer said. "We are fortunate to have their support."
The Pfannenstiels are lifetime residents of Ellis County and are both graduates of FHSU, Verlin in 1971 and Elaine in 1988. They are active supporters of the community, lending their support to Fort Hays State University, the Hays Chamber of Commerce and numerous civic projects in the Russell and Rooks county area, where they have business interests.
