HAYS, KS -- Lucille Gagelman invested a large share of her time and energy in Fort Hays State University and its programs. Following her death in October of 2001, the Lucille Gagelman Trust continued that support with a gift of $120,788 to the FHSU Endowment Association.
The gift is designated to support the V.E. "Barney" and Lucille Gagelman Music Scholarship, the Sternberg Museum of Natural History, construction of a new Alumni and Endowment Center, the FHSU Department of Art and FHSU athletic programs.
"This wonderful gift is representative of Lucille's commitment to our students, to our community and to our future," said Virgil Scott, president and CEO of the Endowment Association.
"It creates a wide variety of opportunities that will touch the lives of many."
Gagelman was an active member of the Hays community and lifelong friend of the university. She was a member of the FHSU Endowment Board of Trustees and served as chair of the Scholarship Committee.
