HAYS, KS -- Fort Hays State University captured three prestigious awards this week at the district conference of the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education.
CASE is the international organization of university endowment, alumni and university relations professionals. CASE District VI, which includes Kansas and seven other states, met for its annual conference Jan. 12-15 in St. Louis. Besides workshops and training sessions, the conference features awards for outstanding work.
The FHSU Office of University Relations captured two awards for "Promoting Fort Hays State University," an identity standards manual that provides helpful information on how to use the university's protected identity marks -- its name, its logo, its mascot, etc. -- effectively and accurately. Art Director Mary Ridgway won a Gold Award for Excellence in Graphic Design for the publication, and the entire University Relations staff won a Silver Award for Excellence in Institutional Relations for the same publication.
The FHSU Alumni Association won a Silver Award for Excellence in Graphic Design for the 4-color cover design of the "FHSU Alumni Directory, Centennial issue." Jeremy Haunschild, FHSU student graphic designer, designed the cover.
From the approximately 1,100 CASE District VI entries received, just 265 awards were presented to 104 institutions in 14 categories.
