"Skip the beer and volunteer" for AmeriCorps Spring Break trip

HAYS, KS -- ProjectSERV AmeriCorps and its volunteers will spend their spring break in Tulsa and Wilburton, OK. AmeriCorps is a national program that helps communities meet educational, public safety, human or environmental needs through volunteer service.

The trip, March 17-21, will place teams of student volunteers in different communities to engage in community service efforts to combat hunger, poverty and environmental issues.

The Alternative Break Connection, a national clearinghouse for alternative break programs, estimates that 10,000 college students will spend their break volunteering. The volunteer application deadline is Jan. 22. Applications can be picked up at Sheridan Hall, room 208.
