HAYS, KS -- Dr. Jerry Choate, Fort Hays State University professor of biological sciences and director of the Sternberg Museum of Natural History, recently presented a lecture at a symposium at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX.
The purpose of the symposium was to assemble the most successful senior mammalogists in the United States and have them discuss both their careers and their perceptions of the future of the academic discipline of mammalogy. The symposium was sponsored by the president of Texas Tech University, Dr. David Schmidly.
Each participant presented a formal lecture and took part in informal discussions. All of the presentations at the symposium will be included in a book that will be published by Texas Tech University in 2002.
