Creative Arts Society and Art Buzz Community Dialogue Presents "Art Slam"
11/02/2001

HAYS, KS -- Do you have a favorite poem, monologue, musical piece or artwork you would like to be seen or heard? The Creative Arts Society and Art Buzz Community Dialogue will be hosting Fort Hays State University's first Art Slam.

Art Slam is intended to be a night of fun and creativity for students to get together and share poems, perform skits, unveil musical talents, bring slides of their personal artwork or integrate some other creative piece.

Art Slam was originally derived from Poetry Slams, a theatrical reading of poems performed throughout the United States within various locations such as coffee shops and bookstores.

Art Slam, unlike Poetry Slam, will be open to all the arts and will be performed for the creative community of students and citizens who choose to attend the event.

Coffee and snacks will be served.

Art Slam takes place at 7 p.m. Nov. 7 in the Tiger's Den, through the southwest door of Custer Hall.
