FHSU Wind Ensemble to present first concert

HAYS, KS -- Fort Hays State University's new Wind Ensemble will present its first concert at 8 p.m. Nov. 1 at the Beach/Schmidt Performing Arts Center in Sheridan Hall.

The ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Michael C. Robinson, FHSU assistant professor of music, plays wind music of all genres.

The concert will feature British, Scottish and Welsh music. The featured composers will be Ralph Vaughan Williams, "Folk Song Suite" and "Rhosymedre" (a Welsh hymn); Eric Ewazen, "Celtic Hymns and Dances"; Zo Elliott, "British Eighth"; Arthur Pryor, "Blue Bells of Scotland"; and Edward Gregson, "Festivo."

Tickets are available at the concert. Prices are $6 for general admission and $4 for senior citizens and youth. For more information on the concert, or for tickets, contact Robinson at (785) 628-5364.
