Hays Community Choir to form for fall

HAYS, KS -- Hays Community Choir, under the direction of Fort Hays State University's Dr. Rager H. Moore, is ready to begin preparing for the annual Cathedral Concert on Dec. 6. The choir is looking for familiar as well as new faces to pull together as a community of musicians for the upcoming choir season.

The Cathedral Concert is an area tradition during the Advent season. Members of the community have the chance to participate in music and perform at the St. Fidelis Catholic Church, the "Cathedral of the Plains." The literature for the concert will be several inspirational Christmas octavos selected especially for the Hays Community Choir. Rehearsals take place on Monday nights at 6:30 or 7 p.m., the first one on Oct. 15 in Malloy Hall room 115. For those nights conflicting with Encore programs, practice will begin at 6:30 p.m.

For more information, contact Moore, assistant professor of music and director of choral activities, at (785) 628-4258.
