HAYS, KS - Nancy Blume, assistant professor of nursing at Fort Hays State University, completed her doctorate of nursing on Dec. 3, 1999, at Kansas University Medical Center.

Blume's research, "For Better or Worse: Exploration of Positive Appraisal Resources in the Alzheimer's Caregiving Situation," was presented at the Annual Research Day at KUMC in December.

She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and a master's degree from Creighton University, Omaha. She joined the faculty of FHSU in August 1995.
